MINDFULNESS FOR BUSY PEOPLE: How To Go From Stress to Calm

When times get hard, our wellbeing becomes more important than ever. It’s not always easy to feel motivated or effective—in work, school or life—when we’re overwhelmed and stressed. Although there are some things in our lives we can’t control, there are small and powerful things we can. In fact, 40% of our wellbeing comes from using a set of practical skills that anyone can learn.

In this program, you’ll learn how to:

  • Rewire your brain’s ancient negativity bias

  • Manage your nervous system to build calm and focus

  • Practice a brain-training exercise shown to boost wellbeing up to 25%

Given the uncertainties of our times, many of us feel stressed and exhausted.. Mindfulness is a strategy that is particularly effective at developing the brain’s ability to be more agile during life’s difficulties. Studies show that people who practice mindfulness techniques report up to 60% less anxiety and 5 times more productivity than before.

In this program, you will learn to:

  • Speed your recovery from the stress response and restore balance in your mind and body

  • Train your brain to handle stress more effectively by infusing mindfulness into everyday tasks at work, home and school

  • Develop 3 “attention anchors” to strengthen your calm and clarity

HOW TO FOCUS IN A DISTRACTED WORLD: Regain Your Attention and Your Life

In today’s world, distractions are everywhere. The daily barrage of emails, texts and the pull of social media can make it challenging to get things done. It’s no surprise that 54% of people say that distractions make them less productive than they'd like to be. That’s why we need strategies to manage life in a digital world and train our brains to stay focused.

In this program, you’ll:

  • Discover why multitasking doesn’t work

  • Clarify what focus is and why it’s so hard to keep it

  • Learn 5 scientifically-based strategies to improve your ability to concentrate on your tasks and projects

The response to Darlene’s presentation was so overwhelmingly positive, that special encore presentations followed, each filled to capacity with a waiting list.

Last night was a big success, in very large part because of Darlene’s presentation. I’ve gotten emails and calls today that reinforce the buzz. When we plan our next event, we’ll be hard pressed to find a more engaging speaker, but I’m glad she set the bar so high!

Darlene is a powerful teacher. She’s warm and engaging, and her tools are memorable and easy-to-use. Her exercises have really stayed with our group—now we’re all doing her 3-3-6 breathing! If you want to live your happiest life, Darlene is your best guide.
— Gail Herndon, Division Director – City of Hope National Medical Center
Darlene is a wonderful teacher, mentor and beautiful person on the inside and out. We were lucky to have her speak on our campus.
